They've taken me to Bryant Park, the New York Public Library, Toys R Us (for an indoor Ferris wheel ride), Times Square, Union Station, FAO Schwartz (to make Muppets), a night loop tour via bus and boat (a looooong tour that almost left us abandoned in Brooklyn), and the Brooklyn Bridge . And that's just the first day!
Yesterday, we started with a tour of 30 Rock! Stood in Brian Williams' studio, and checked out the MSNBC, Jimmy Fallon and Saturday Night Live studios. Then the rains came, so we headed underground to the subway (much more spatious than the DC Metro), and made our way to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Annex in SoHo (home to an excellent John Lennon exhibit). We hoofed it to the courts where Law and Order is filmed, then walked around Ground Zero before heading to the most traumatizing things this gnome has ever seen.
You see, the bride has a thing for dead bodies (which has the groom a wee bit worried). And there just happens to be an exhibit filled with preserved dead bodies, spliced every which way. I was thrilled to get out of there.
Our evening consisted of watching Waiting for Godot, starring Nathan Lane, Bill Irwin, John Goodman, and John Glover. From the second row!
Today, I'll hitch a ride with the newlyweds to see the Top of the Rock (not the old nightclub on Alpine Ave., but rather the best view of NYC atop 30 Rock), then take in a matinee at Yankee Stadium. Photos (and video) to come soon!
Waiting for Godot?!
ReplyDeleteFrom the sencond row?!?!?!?
Okay, Gnorman. I'm officially jealous and do not like you anymore.
Lucky.
